Luzern series explained | Print |

The luzern series is a modular system which consists of standardized metal mounting plates which can be combined with the Luzern LED module(s). Depending on the type of plate it can house one or more luzern LED modules (1).

Mounting the Luzern LED spots and plates

The mounting plates are available in round (2),
rectangular (3), square and oval shapes.

The LED modules easily snap into the plates.

Guide the wire through the plate, make sure the  tipping point (5) of the LED modules face in the desired direction and click the led modules in.

The plates itself have spring brackets (4) which can be pushed together when putting it in a ceiling hole. The dimensions of the build-in hole are always smaller than the plate itself and they are stated with specifications of the plate.

Motion detection & light switching -
PIR module (6)

A module position in a mounting plate can also be used to house a PIR (motion detecting) module. The module is connected between the LED driver and the LED modules (1) which should be controlled by the PIR module (6).

For electrical connections please refer to the manual.

Power supply and electrical connections

The Luzern LED modules are powered by Lumotech® drivers (7). All Lumotech® drivers can be applied in combination with the Luzern series LED spots.

Dimming is always performed with an external dimmer. Please refer to the Dimmerlist for suitable - mains - dimmers.

'Click and Go' connection

The 'Click and Go' cable system (8) provides an easy and modular connection of the LED modules to a driver.

The following drivers are equipped for the 'Click and Go' system:

  • L05020NS - Non dimmable.
  • L05021NS - Mains dimmable.
  • L05011iNS - Pulse dimmable.
  • L05016iNS - Pulse dimmable.

The cables with an splitter block (9) are available in standard lengths of 1 metre (2-way splitter) and 2 metres (4-way splitter) and there are extension cables available with lengths of 3, 5, 7 and 10 metres.

At maximum power load the total (secondary) length of the cable should not exceed 10 metres.

The drawing on the right shows a basic set-up of a driver (7) which is connected to a Luzern LED spot (1) through its included cable with splitter block (8). An optional cable with splitter block (9) can be connected which powers an additional two Luzern LED spots.
